About Lori
There are four essential elements that identify a professional real estate agent:
1) REALTOR® membership, 2) industry experience, 3) local market knowledge and 4) right attitude. Lori takes professionalism even further with savvy negotiation skills, innovative marketing plans, consistent follow-through, diligence and her energetic, upbeat personality.
As a native Oregonian (Portland raised, U of O graduate) and a third generation real estate agent (her grandpa, her father & her mother), Lori understands being at home in Oregon. She has over 13 years of experience in the Eugene market and continues to accrue additional real estate credentials, along with peer recognition and a record of industry service.
In 1995, she joined Barnhart Associates Real Estate, a boutique, family-run real estate agency that consistently sells the highest volume per agent in Eugene. "Joining the Barnhart team was a confirmation of my sales ability," Lori says. "And it was my best career move. The Barnharts' personalized approach with every client complemented my service style, resulting in even more successful transactions."
Lori's clients are routinely pleased with her hard work and commitment to their success. "It is satisfying to bring people from initial apprehension to a place of comfort and delight. With both buyers and sellers, I work hard to solve the puzzles and smooth out the transitions inevitable to the real estate process." says Lori. "Time after time, we have assessed the unique challenges arising in each escrow and found the best solution."
Lori graduated from the University of Oregon in 1991 with a B.A. in English Literature. She spent the next year in Sweden, working as a translator, before returning to Eugene to marry her husband Kris, a fourth generation Eugenean, and raise a family in the College Hill/Friendly Street neighborhood.
Family: "Since I married Kris, we've added our two children, Cameron and Sophie, and 'Mocha,' a chocolate lab."
Home: "Kris and I live only six blocks from the first house we bought together in 1993. We found our current home on an evening walk, and captivated by its potential, we contacted the owners. After five years of patience, perseverance and some of Kris' baking, we purchased the property."
Why Eugene? "There’s a lifestyle here that draws people from all over looking for a kind of utopia. The physical beauty of the region plus the diverse cultural and recreational opportunities give it a quality of life like no other place. Imagine watching the beloved (albeit zany) Eugene Celebration Parade with a 'Slug Queen', and realize you are standing between a Buddhist monk from Nepal and a world-class runner."
Favorite food: "My husband's signature chocolate cake. He loves to bake, and I love chocolate."
A Saturday Market 'must': "Lulu's Smoothies!"
Fitness: "Yoga, when there is time; walking the hills; bike riding; and water skiing."
Best cultural experience: "Traveling in France, wearing black and sitting in parks and cafes trying to blend! Favorites spots - Place des Vosges and the Tuileries. Now, because our children are so young, we bring France to us by hosting a French student every August. This will be our third year."
Favorite authors: "Right now it’s Dr. Seuss for the kids, but my favorites are Jane Austin, Toni Morrison and Chuck Palahniuk."
Where will we hear about you? "Not on myspace.com or a bus-stop billboard. I’m not out to be a real estate celebrity, just provide my clients with the best possible service. I’d rather my name came up as a referral between friends."
